18 Inch doll beds

These sweet little dolls came to live with us on Christmas. Seriously, no little girl has ever wanted an American Girl doll as badly as my daughters wanted one. Sadly, we had no beds for them, so they had to sleep in cardboard boxes, which, I was informed, are not very comfortable. But there they slept until I found a really easy tutorial...and I MADE SOME!!
These beds were actually not too hard to make, especially since I had some handyman help. After the beds were made and painted, I made two bedspreads, and voila!
Good Night, little American Girl dolls.

Jewelry Holder

This lovely necklace and bracelet holder is a la my friend Kirsten. She made one for her MIL for Christmas, and then she showed me how to do it! It was pretty simple, first, we bought the frame and sanded it down, and then applied a dark stain to the whole thing. I put more stain on, so my frame looks a little more like a cream color (the original frame was white).
Then we glued (with silicone, so I guess we siliconed it) a metal grate that we had spray painted into the frame. After letting it sit for 24 hours, I screwed the cabinetry knobs onto the grate to
hang my jewelry.
Finally I hung picture hangers on the back and hung it on my wall in my closet.

Welcome!!

I love looking at crafty blogs. I like seeing people create things. I like creating things myself. However, I am not always as good at creating as some other people. So I am starting this blog to document and share the things I create. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Let's just hope that there are more good than bad and ugly...
